How a job runs
Prep is most of the work.
Coatings fail because of what happened before the coating went on. Here's the order we work in, and roughly what it costs you in time.
Walkthrough & written quote
We measure, probe posts for rot, and hand you a fixed price with the scope in writing. About 30 minutes.
Repair & replace
Failed posts reset, split boards swapped, gates re-hung and squared. Same-day on most fences.
Wash, dry, mask
Wash the mildew out, then wait for the wood to reach moisture spec. This is the step nobody should rush.
Coat & walk it with you
Two coats, then we walk the whole line together before we load the truck.
On timing: we won't coat wet wood to hit a date. If the forecast turns, we reschedule the finish and tell you the same day — the repair work still stands, and your price doesn't move.

Should I repair or just replace the fence?
If the posts are sound, repair almost always wins — it typically runs a fraction of replacement cost and keeps wood out of the landfill. If more than about a third of your posts have failed at the ground line, replacement starts making more sense. We'll tell you which one you're looking at, even when it's the answer that costs us the job.
How long does a fence job take?
A typical residential fence is two to three days: repair, wash, then coat once the wood is dry enough. Larger properties and HOA runs are scheduled in sections so your yard isn't open for a week.
What does it cost?
Staining a standard six-foot cedar fence generally lands between $8 and $14 per linear foot depending on condition, access, and one side versus two. Repairs are quoted per item. You get a fixed number in writing before anything starts.
Can you work in the rainy season?
Repairs, yes, year-round. Coating needs a dry window and wood at the right moisture level, so from roughly November through February we book prep and repair work and schedule finishes around the weather rather than against it.
Do you work with HOAs and property managers?
Regularly. We can quote by the linear foot across multiple properties, hold pricing for a season, and provide certificates of insurance and per-unit documentation for your records.
